An animal-garden Enteshari

A large star-medallion Isfahan carpet by Ahmad Zojaji: an ivory field of dense Shah Abbasi flora around a red-and-navy star medallion, navy corner medallions, and a deep wine border, the white silk fringes visible at both ends.
In Detail
The sunburst medallion at an angle: an ivory core opening through gold and blue rings onto the madder field, white deer leaping below.
The corner of the carpet, full bleed: the navy-and-camel border system turning the angle, the ivory spandrel’s grey and blue beasts, the madder field’s birds and blossoms, and the white silk fringe at the foot.
A diagonal fold: the navy border’s vinework and birds above the fringe, the red field’s flowering shrubs and ducks below.
The pile in soft folds: the ivory spandrel’s grey beasts entering at left, the field’s blossoms and birds riding each crest.
