A Zojaji pair

A matched pair of large ivory-ground Isfahan carpets by Ahmad Zojaji, each with a central medallion, rose corner medallions and a camel-and-navy border system.
In Detail
The corner of one carpet of the pair: the camel main border and navy guards turning the angle, a rose corner medallion on the ivory field, and the woven signature Iran, Isfahan, Zojaji between two flags above the silk fringe.
The border system folded back over the field: navy guard bands, the camel outer border, the white silk fringe and kilim end, a rose corner medallion showing above.
The pile in soft folds, madder and navy drawing over the ivory ground, the silk catching light along each crest.
Folded runs of the field: scrolling stems, serrated leaves and blossoms in madder, blues and sage on ivory.
